What is particle board?
How is chipboard produced?
The first stage in chipboard production is to break specially supplied trees into small pieces in special crushing machines in order to provide the desired features and to warehouse the broken trees in two separate classes according to their chip sizes. The upper and lower layer chips are dried together to the desired moisture value. Then, the chip pieces divided into 2 separate classes are mixed with special adhesives and hardeners and chemicals that will ensure that they stick together. A separate special adhesive and additional chemicals are used for each class. The mixture of 2 separate classes with added chemicals is dried with hot air to the desired moisture value. A separate moisture value is provided for each class. First, the mixture of very fine chip pieces is laid on the lowest part. Then, the mixture with larger chip pieces is laid on it. Finally; the mixture with very small chip pieces laid on the lowest is laid on the top again depending on the desired product feature. Afterwards, the sheet, whose rough outlines were given in the first pressing process, is subjected to the process for a suitable time under appropriate temperature and pressure in the second pressing process to ensure that the fibers adhere well to each other. In the final stage, the sheets coming out of the press are left to cool down so that their structure is fully formed. Following the completion of the specified cooling period, they are made ready for final use by being subjected to a sanding process to have the desired thickness and smooth surface.
Where is chipboard used?
